The delicious combination of steak, bacon, and brown gravy calls for the Rouladen dish! The perfect blend for a nice fulfilling dinner.

Want to give this recipe a try? Here is the step-by-step German Rouladen recipe shared by our lovely sister, Hannah!
What You Need:
Braciola Steaks
mustard (yellow or spicy brown)
pepper
bacon
pickles (flat cut)
white onions
toothpicks
brown gravy (we use gravy from Germany, but normal brown gravy will do the trick)
Preparation:
Clean work space. We use wax paper to work on because it gets very messy and a little easier to clean up.
Dice onions.
If the steak is too thick or too small, you will want to beat it to flatten it out.
Steps:
In this order: lay out steak, spread mustard on steak, sprinkle some pepper on it for taste, lay down a slice of bacon or two if you prefer, a slice of pickle, and a small handful of diced onions.
Roll the rouladen and tuck in the ends so nothing falls out. Use the toothpick to hold the stead in place (or skewers).
Brown the steak in oil in a pan. Make sure to brown all sides.
Take it out of the pan when done and place in a fairly large baking pan.
Use leftover oil/drippings from the pan and place in baking pan along with the gravy. (If you have extra bacon and want to cook that, you can add that in as well).
Cook in oven for 1.5 hours at 375℉.
